Hello to all of you beautiful, patient people. I hope this update finds you all safe and well. It has been a crazy few months with so many unknowns and changes, but I have really enjoyed the quality time I have been able to spend with my family and also myself. Since Salons haven’t been operating, I have been making the most of the time by indulging other interests like taking online real estate courses and convincing my boyfriend to take me motorcycle riding. The most exciting news is my fun new project that has been on my mind for a long time, a mobile hair salon.
After a lot of searching, I found a vintage 1960 travel trailer in Silver Springs, Colorado. Her name was Sunshine. We packed up our tents and headed out on a road trip to pick her up. We had a grand idea of camping in National Parks along the way, which was short lived when we quickly realized all the parks were closed. We eventually found a privately-owned campground, pitched our tents, ate “in” at an “authentic Mexican restaurant” at the campground in Utah.
After a good night’s sleep in the great outdoors we packed up camp and headed to Silver Springs. Experiencing the changing landscape along the way was exactly what we all needed after being cooped up in the house for two months. We even pulled over for a picnic while Eryn, my daughter took her AP final exams. Thank goodness for technology. Later that day we finally made it, hooked her up and headed back to San Diego.
Trailer renovation started as soon as we arrived home and I have loved every minute of it. The new mobile salon will be completely self-sufficient all the way down to solar panels, generator, and water tanks. It is coming along quickly, and I couldn’t be more excited to share this next phase of my journey with all of you. Having a mobile salon allows me to provide the safest environment for myself and all of you. Once it is complete, I will be able to travel to each of you to provide full salon services in a clean, sanitized and sophisticated space. There will be an air sanitation purifier, UV light sanitizer, and the space will be wiped down completely between each client visit. You can have the comforts of your own home while also getting in-salon service.
For those of you who are interested in still coming into the salon I will back on Cedros Avenue Mondays and Tuesdays starting July 13th. The salon will have health codes to follow, one of which is one client at a time. A mask must always be worn, and no other friends or family members are allowed to accompany you during your appointment. Just text me when you arrive and wait in your car until I text you to come in.
I am so excited to see you all again. If you would like to book an appointment in the salon please book on line for Monday or Tuesday. If you would like an at home visit, please book online for Wednesday-Friday. Please do not hesitate to call me on the salon line or my cell.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me. It has been three months since I have seen any clients and with the newly mandated restrictions, I am only able to see one client at a time. This has made my schedule a little challenging. I appreciate your patience while waiting for me to return your calls and book your appointments. This will definitely ease up as the situation evolves. I am excited to get back to work and is looking forward to servicing your beauty needs. But first, between our desire to keep everyone healthy and to stay in compliance with government mandates, we must adopt a few changes in how I work.
Please understand that we need to:
Limit the number of people in the salon at any one time.
Space out our workstations in order to social distance.
Wear protective gear, including masks (and ask you to do the same).
Spend more time between clients disinfecting work areas.
Be patient with me, as I am working as quickly as I can to accommodate your needs, all while keeping everyone’s health and safety top of mind.
